About Audio Description
Films and videos entertain, educate, and inform, but they can be difficult to understand for people who can't see or can't see well. Audio description (AD) provides access to visual images through succinct and vivid descriptions of elements that are crucial to understanding the creator's intention. In addition to its benefits for students who are blind or have low vision, AD can be helpful for those with learning disabilities, and it can boost literacy for all learners. Audio description is an important component of all inclusion and diversity efforts and can be found in museums, at performing arts centers, at National Parks, and in broadcasts of live events.

About the American Council of the Blind and the Audio Description Project
ACB is a national member-driven organization that strives to increase the independence, security, equality of opportunity, and quality of life for people who are blind or have low vision. The Audio Description Project (ADP) advocates for more and better quality audio description. Its website provides valuable information on the creation of AD, as well as a catalog of films with AD and where to find them.
