Mission Statement
The ADP Gaming Committee, a subcommittee of the Audio Description Project (ADP), is dedicated to advancing the integration and quality of audio description in video games.
Bringing together accessibility advocates, blind and low vision gamers, and audio description professionals, the committee works to ensure that interactive entertainment is inclusive, immersive, and equitable for all players.
The committee's mission is to:
Establish and share best practices for implementing audio description in gaming
Advocate for the inclusion of audio description in both new and existing titles
Provide a growing resource list of described games and live events with audio described content
Educate and inform the blind gaming community about accessibility features and updates
Collaborate with developers using gamer feedback and data to improve accessibility implementation.
Through outreach, education, and advocacy, the ADP Gaming Committee aims to make the gaming world more accessible and engaging.
Committee Members
Aaron Spelker, chair
Aaron founded the Mobile Accessible Games (MAG) brand shortly after losing his sight in an accident. The Mobile Accessible Games brand is dedicated to exposing the blind and visually impaired community to a wide variety of accessible mobile games. MAG’s social media presence provides weekly accessibility game reviews, interviews with game developers and accessibility influencers, news on the latest game accessibility developments, and long-form articles on the state of accessible gaming. Aaron has written accessibility related articles for several websites and has presented about gaming accessibility at several regional conferences. Aaron is an accessibility trainer for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired and for the Carroll Center for the Blind.
Jesse Anderson
Jesse is a legally blind gamer and assistive technology specialist. Outside his day job, he works as a game, technology, and VR accessibility advocate and consultant, with a focus on blind and low vision accessibility. He has presented on both VR and game accessibility for the Game Accessibility Conference, Inclusive Design 24 conference, and IGDA. He also runs the IllegallySighted YouTube channel, Twitch stream, website, and X account He is very interested in making technology and games more accessible to everyone.
Aaron Espinoza
Aaron is a DeafBlind gamer and works as a web accessibility tester. He currently serves as the Accessible Gaming Officer for the Next Generation ACB Affiliate, where he focuses on raising awareness about video game accessibility and creating new initiatives to support the field. He has also presented at the ACB National Conference and Convention, discussing video game accessibility.
Alex Howard
Alex Howard is a legally blind entertainment professional, accessibility consultant and audio description advocate. In the past he has worked at DC comics, Warner Brothers and NBC Universal. He is currently the co-host of The Dark Room podcast, which discusses movies from the blind perspective. He advocates for audio description in all forms of entertainment.
Jenna “Jennissary”
Jenna is a producer for live and interactive Audio Description at Descriptive Video Works (DVW). She heads up DVW’s gaming initiatives, to include in-game audio description, live events, and pre-recorded or promotional videos. Jenna has extensive experience writing, producing, and voicing or live-describing for gaming content. She has designed new writing rules and frameworks for scenarios unique to gaming.
Dianna Leonard
Dianna Leonard holds a BA in English and Communications and is a low vision gamer. She has professional experience in copyediting and social media marketing. She enjoys “cozy” games on the PC and Nintendo Switch console. She runs a YouTube channel called Dianna Plays Games, where she shares content on Nintendo’s Animal Crossing and older Sims games developed by Electronic Arts, as well as other similar titles. When playing games, she focuses on titles that offer UI, text scaling, and high contrast options for people who are legally blind or have low vision.
Carlos Vasquez
Carlos, a.k.a. KHRattlehead, is a fully blind streamer, musician, and gaming accessibility consultant from Texas. He is a member of the Sento Showdown, acting as the face of the team, performing outreach with sponsorships, and co-hosting Sento Showdown events on his Twitch channel. He has appeared in articles from websites like The Verge, and he represented blind gaming in a PBS documentary. Carlos appeared in an accessibility campaign led by Apple and worked with NetherRealm Studios as an accessibility consultant for their latest Mortal Kombat title.
