DVDs and Blu-ray Discs With Audio Description Released in 2010

Attention Mobile Users: The main table is wider than most screens.  To see notes on any given DVD, pan right or put your phone in landscape mode.

Welcome to the only complete listing of USA audio described commercial videos!
This is a USA-only listing, and Canadians sometimes find DVDs listed here do not have description in Canada.

PointerJump to DVD Descriptions and Ordering Information or go to our full listing of DVDs from all years.

2010 proved to be a turning point on availability of audio description tracks on DVDs, with more first-run movie DVDs released than all previous years combined.  Several major studios (Sony, Universal, and Disney-Pixar) committed to description on their DVDs and Blu-ray discs whenever they contracted for it in the original movie.  Universal, however, did not commit to description on RENTAL versions (until July 2012), so beware.

Below you will find a list of all the described DVDs released in the USA in 2010 of primarily first-run movies.  (A few special releases, not first-run movies, are also included.)  Most of them are available via Amazon, and we urge you to make your purchase via a click-through from this website to help support the cost of the website.

Please pay attention to notes with cautions (in this color) regarding which versions of the DVDs may or may not have description.  The older ones rarely say anything about description on the covers, while most of the new ones do (typically under Languages as "DVS" or "English Audio Description Track").  Rental versions are sometimes the "Director's Cut," which typically does not include description, nor do unrated versions.  Be sure to order the theatrical version, and be sure to order via Amazon, not their Marketplace sellers.  Generally, the Blu-ray versions of DVDs listed here since the fall of 2009 also have description.

Zombieland, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone (2010) Rated R

If there's been a zombie apocalypse and you're road-tripping alone though the wasteland, you could do worse than run into Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), a bourbon-swilling bad-boy butt-kicker with a really cool car.  This is where the careful hero of Zombieland, a kid nicknamed Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), finds himself early in the film, and you can hardly blame him for hitching a ride with this swaggering Alpha Male.  Still, they have their hands full not only with gibbering zombies but also with two sisters (Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin) who will stop at nothing to reach a Disneyland-like amusement park in L.A. ... it settles into an amusing comedy, regularly interrupted by bouts of blood-letting...  -- Robert Horton
